As the multiple-choice/standardized test becomes the end-all to assess the development, progress, and learning of children, the educational climate I work in has a theory that there is no time for fun. It seems we must be, constantly, searching for the best way to choose a, b, or c. The Clipboard determines development, and the benchmark brings blame rather than brains. The pioneer of Original Play, Fred Donaldson, said, "It takes courage to play," and some brave educators adhere. So as to avoid the rebuke of the Clipboard, fun must go underground, hence The Secret Underground Fun Report.
